The union of two great passions: TRAVEL and HORSES. viajaracavalo was idealized by Jacira Omena. Responsible for the entire process of implementing horseback travel itineraries.
She operationalizes and guides all horseback travel programs together with her team and partners.
For over 20 years, she has been a horseback traveler. During this time, she has traversed trails throughout Brazil and different parts of the world, where she made significant crossings. Highlights include the Great Andes Crossing between Argentina and Chile, Rajasthan/India, Ecuadorian Andes, Pantanal, Sanctuary of Aparecida do Norte, and the French Way of Santiago de Compostela (600 km).
In 2013, she wrote a book – Viajar a Cavalo: A Step-by-Step Guide; in 2014, her website was born; in 2015, she began marketing horseback travel itineraries and accompanying groups of participants on exclusive dates; in 2016, she started the implementation and operationalization of her own horseback travel itineraries with local partnerships; and in April 2017, she had the immense satisfaction of riding 600 km of the French Way of Santiago de Compostela and accompanying client-friends on this same journey. Also in 2017, she made several trips accompanying groups and implemented the horseback travel program – Travessia Country Mar – on the southern coast of Alagoas. In 2018, she returned to the Camino de Santiago de Compostela with another group of clients; guided in Chilean Patagonia and the Southern Coast of Alagoas, and implemented a new itinerary in the Canyons of São Francisco region in the hinterlands of Alagoas. In that same year, she acquired her own troop specialized in this activity. Known as the Tropa viajaracavalo Nordeste, based in the Southern Coast of Alagoas, she began to operate for international groups. In 2019, she started the year operationalizing her various own programs on the Southern Coast of Alagoas, Canyons of Velho Chico, and the Sanctuary of NS Aparecida. In addition to these, she launched horseback travel itineraries – Travessia da Mantiqueira Mineira, Puro Sangue Mangalarga Marchador, and Circuit of Waters and Coffee. In 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, she advanced in planning and organizing new partnerships for the launch of new programs for the coming years. With this, she deepened her partnership with ENTRE OREJAS and Fazenda da Chapada with the joint program BRASIL GAUCHO, in Coxilha Rica, Santa Catarina. The year 2020 was challenging, but viajaracavalo advanced in visibility, client numbers, and satisfaction rates. There was no doubt about moving forward in 2021, despite the adversities. At the beginning of 2021, she established a base - Rancho viajaracavalo in SFX, in Mantiqueira Paulista, to conduct programs in the surrounding area and from São Francisco Xavier. We continue our work in implementing programs and partnerships. New destinations are emerging all the time, such as Chapada Diamantina, France, and Africa, which were launched more recently. LET'S GO TRAVELING WITH VIAJARACAVALO!
