Is it expensive to travel on horseback?

The pleasure, satisfaction, and memorable moments are much more enduring on a horseback trip.

I am a traveler in general. I travel traditionally in the same proportion as I travel on horseback. I usually make a spreadsheet with my itineraries and expenses, day by day. I have a history.

When I analyze these spreadsheets, I always conclude that my horseback trips have a much better cost-benefit ratio than the others. And why?

Horseback trips usually include all meals, accommodations, and transportation, whereas in traditional travel, I always have to spend on food, except breakfast, and transportation.

In traditional travel, I spend on tickets and optional entertainment, as well as tempting purchases along the way. In contrast, during my horseback riding, I have guaranteed fun and options for local shopping like handicrafts.

When I travel with my friends to cities around the world, enjoying the wonderful restaurants they offer, I tend to gain weight. The opposite happens when I travel on horseback—I lose weight, exercise, and return fitter and more energized than before.

With a taste for nature, I often seek parks to visit and usually travel by car through the countryside. When I travel on horseback, I become part of the same landscape I see from the window.

That’s why I think traveling on horseback is not expensive.

I am happy with any type of travel, but I spend less to be happy when the trip is on horseback. The experience leads to a more lasting psychological effect.

At the end of each trip, I ask the customers of viajaracavalo what they think about the amount paid and the return they received. The famous cost and benefit and meeting expectations. These questions are more important than whether they think it was expensive or cheap. They all respond that they received more than they expected and that what they received surpassed their expectations. The experience of traveling on horseback goes beyond the idea of acquiring material goods and reaches the level of benefits that are priceless.

As both a traveler and an operator through viajaracavalo, I recommend that people who have never taken a horseback trip try it.
